|Trends in Physician Recruitment Discussed at National Conference|
St. Paul, MN, September 5, 2013 — In-house physician recruitment professionals from hospitals and healthcare organizations across the country gathered in Arizona to discuss the impact of healthcare reform on their industry, and effective physician recruitment and retention strategies at the annual conference of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR).

Other conference topics included effective recruitment, onboarding and retention strategies for physicians, and advanced-practice providers. Leading experts spoke on issues such as hospital-physician alignment models, Stark Law, and medical staff development planning. The ASPR Fellowship Certification program was also offered at the conference, and the most recent Fellows were recognized during the organization’s annual business meeting.
“More than 380 participants at the conference engaged with presenters and exhibitors to learn innovative techniques for attracting and retaining physicians in today’s increasingly competitive environment,” says Jennifer Metivier, MS, FASPR, executive director of ASPR. “Our learning programs at the conference helped members focus on practical solutions and offered case studies in a forum designed for sharing of information.” ASPR also offers opportunities to learn throughout the year via webinars and articles by industry experts in the Journal of ASPR, as well as participating in regional chapters and the benchmarking report.
