Onboarding and Orientation of Advanced Practice Providers

In this session, we will discuss why it is important to properly on-board and orient new advanced practice providers to an institution. This will include discussion of key orientation components, preceptor training, and the mentorship of new advanced practice graduates.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- List at least two reasons it is important for advanced practice providers to be properly oriented when coming into a new role.
- Discuss key education objectives for a preceptor training course.
- Identify unique challenges that new advanced practice graduates will face as they transition into their new roles.
Alicia Conrad, APRN, ACNP-BC, CNS, CCTC, serves as Advanced Practice Divisional Educator for Tampa General Hospital. Over the past 10 years, she has worked clinically as a nurse practitioner before transitioning to leadership and education roles. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in nursing and a dual Master’s of Science degree in nursing. She is working towards her DNP degree.
Alicia is actively involved in Florida Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and serves as the president of Suncoast Educators Association, a local affiliate of ANPD.
