This session will discuss programs developed at Cleveland Clinic and Baystate Health to assist trainees in their transition from training to their first job.  We will discuss best practices at both institutions which will help others develop their own programs.

Speaker Bio

Melissa Hale

Melissa Hale is the Lead Senior Recruiter at Baystate Health / University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate in western Massachusetts.  She is responsible for developing strategic recruitment plans for physicians and advanced practitioners for several service lines as well as leading project initiatives and providing training within the Provider Recruitment team.  She has been a member of AAPPR since 2007 and holds CMSR and FASPR certifications.  She is currently serving as President of the Northeast Physician Recruitment Association (NEPRA).

Jennifer Kambies

Jennifer Kambies has been working as an in-house staff physician recruiter since 2004.  She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration from Ohio University in 2002 and an MBA with a Health Care Management focus from Regis University in 2008.  She has been working at Cleveland Clinic in the Office of Physician Recruitment since 2007.  Prior to her employment at Cleveland Clinic she was a physician liaison at DeKalb Medical in Decatur, GA handling physician recruitment and retention issues for physicians in the community.  Jen manages the recruitment process for several specialties: Geriatrics, General Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery and physician leadership searches.  Additionally, Jen has oversight of the Resident and Fellow and Diversity Recruitment initiatives.
