Susan Boydell is a partner with Barlow/McCarthy specializing in helping hospitals and health systems create customized solutions for referral development, leakage improvement, developing teams and keeping organizations one step ahead of trends. Susan has more than 25 years of experience working for large health care systems. Before joining Barlow/McCarthy, Susan led business growth strategy at Texas Health Resources and was the marketing and brand leader with BayCare Health System.
With over 30 years of experience in academic health care, Denise Rooney, RN, BSN has a strong clinical background with in-depth knowledge of physician services, management, and nursing. She has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient clinical care, clinical research, patient safety, quality improvement, physician relations, physician outreach and marketing. As a passionate leader, Denise finds great satisfaction in achieving extraordinary results. She has worked with the medical staff on several research grants which have led to a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of safety and quality. In addition, Denise has initiated a host of critically important translation of research related to patient care and operational improvements. For the past 11 years, she has led the physician outreach team at Northwestern Medicine's Academic Medical Center. Denise earned her bachelor's degree in Science of Nursing from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a minor in sociology.
