The physician shortage is here and it is real. As physician and APP recruiters, we face this shortage on a daily basis. Along with that also comes the shrinking of hospital systems nationwide. Many smaller hospitals are being partnered or bought by other health systems. This presentation will provide knowledge and tools that will allow you to stand out as a strong and valuable asset to health care.
Over the past 19 years, Sarah Krueger has served in the health care field as a social worker in nursing home and hospital level care and most recently as a physician recruiter for the MidMichigan health system. She enjoys developing relationships quickly with physicians and other health care professionals. Sarah is currently Vice President of the Michigan Recruitment and Retention Network and feels the relationships that have been connected and established help to provide the best care and access to the community. Sarah has also served as Co-Chair for the Resource Library for ASPR since 2016. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2000 and received her Master's degree in Social Work from Michigan State University in 2002. Her most important roles, however, are being a wife and mom. Sarah has been married for nearly 18 years and has two amazing kids who keep her on her toes.
Craig Hunter joined the Coker Group firm in 1989 and has since worked extensively with health systems, hospital-based networks, multispecialty and single specialty groups, and independent private practices to achieve performance improvement. He has facilitated many phases of integration and practice development for Coker clients. Working in the area of practice mergers, strategic planning, management reviews, negotiations, and disengagements are among his major strengths.
Mr. Hunter's focus includes physician network development, community needs assessment, medical staff alignment, physician compensation plans, and medical staff surveys. Mr. Hunter provides integrated network services to hospitals and independent practices.
Mr. Hunter frequently conducts physician need and feasibility analyses for hospitals and private practices, which specifically involve staff planning and market analysis. Assignments involve physician contracts preparation, analysis, and negotiations.
Mr. Hunter is a frequent and well-received program speaker at conferences and workshops across the country sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, medical associations, and health care organizations. His dynamic presentations are popular and in high demand. His audiences are composed of health system executives, physician executives, senior administrators, and other health care personnel. Mr. Hunter is known for his dedication to quality.
